Business Update

Having the entire family around this weekend gave me a chance to chat to my brother, the big-business one who permanently lands with his bum in the butter, and who is all set to help me get my little business off the ground.

And the upshot of it is that he's given me 10 days (only half-jokingly) to get my butt in gear and start sorting out my business. It's going to be started from home with stuff that doesn't have to be sold fresh (as in just made and still piping hot) - things like my brownie, foccacia and bread mixes, granola and such.

It's nose to the grindstone from now on! Things I need to get done are:

* register me "trading as" my product line's name and future business label
* finalize recognizeable packaging, or get my name and look out there in a unique form that folk can pick out from the millions of other products on a shelf
* make contact with those who would be interested in selling my products, advertise them locally and check out what kind of market I have
* fill a couple of already-ordered orders, starting later today
* draw up a proper business plan, with a few goals for the future and a time frame
* ...etc...

So, as you can see, it's busy times ahead. Exciting times, but busy, as I'm still holding down a full-time job and trying to be two parents in one!

Wish me luck! (oh, and prayers would be appreciated, if you have any spare prayer accounts lying around)
