Virtual Tourist

When you're in competition with someone else to submit the most Google Earth files (first!), it's amazing the kind of stuff you suddenly remember about where you live.

I thought I'd basically run out of things to mark in the high-res areas, but it seems I was wrong. I'd forgotten all sorts of things.

Not only is GE really good at reminding one of what you have just around the corner, I wish it were required software for schools. It's a darn good programme to teach geography - though I suspect more surfing the earth than teaching might occur.

All this to say, I'm having fun re-discovering a lot of places around here and further afield. Some of them look very different from above - some it feels like I'm standing there.
