Voice of the Public

I did it - I wrote to a local sweet manufacturer's marketing division, and suggested they include a tiny box of Turkish Delight with every ticket sold to see the Narnia movie in South Africa. It's the only sweet mentioned in the movie, and plays an important part in the story.

No clue if they actually listen to the voice of the public, or if someone else has already given them the idea, but we'll see what happens.

I can't WAIT for the Narnia movie to come out here (nor the Harry Potter one). I've re-read the books more times than I care to count, and have read them through at least 3 times to my son. My mother kindly provided us with our own boxed set a few years ago, and we keep picking them up to re-read, first volume right through to seventh.

From what I've seen of the preview, and heard from those who have already seen it - it's awesome. Close to the book in feel and story, with nothing gone too "Hollywood" or over the top. Already, just seeing the preview makes me tear up a little (sensitive soul that I am) - perhaps it's the idealist in me that wants good to still be found in the world, right to triumph and Aslan to restore things to the way it should be.

So watch this space. And your movies. Perhaps, if we're lucky, we'll all be getting Turkish Delight soon.
