Lazy Saturday

I haven't done this in ages! I woke up at 10 this morning - well, 5 to 10, 'cos our IT guy phoned to ask if I had internet. Apparently something bombed out the room that houses all our local systems. But nonetheless - sleeping in until mid-morning was a total pleasure. I dreamt a strange, vivid dream (that if I shared you'd think me nuts), right through a hard rain downpour. Totally cocooned and comfortable, no alarm to jolt me awake, no kid getting up early and switching on his computer - he slept in too.

We're finally getting to breakfast around the time we usually start planning lunch. It's raining again, and I'm off to soak in a deep hot bath while water drips off the balcony upstairs. Later I'll wander down to the maintenance scrap heap, where I spotted some perfectly good wooden drawers, one of which will today end up in a tri-fork of the mulberry tree as a plate for my fruit-eating bird locals. The seed-eaters can stick to the stuff we throw out on the path every day.

The rest of the day? Totally planless, other than another nap this afternoon, hopefully with a background track of rain again (looking outside, it's highly likely). I'm going to devote a bit of time to reading, a bit more to thinking, and a little to some online activities. But that's it. No hard work, no appointments, I can hang around in my casual clothes and slippers, devoid of make-up and pretentions for the entire day.

I love days like this. I need them regularly. Especially after a very busy week.
