Learnt Something New!

In the package my mom sent were two videos, supposedly of nature programmes, for my son to watch. Well - one had nature programmes on, the other had a few minutes of a nature programme at the beginning, and about 5 minutes of a nature programme 6 hours later....but that's beside the point.

Point being, one of the other programmes on that tape had to do with the removing of Aborigine people from where they naturally lived, to other areas - similar to what just about every colonial "invader" did, the world-over.

What was interesting to me, though, was the pre-programme warning given, something like this:

"Aboriginal and Torres Strait viewers please note that the following programme may contain images and voices of people now deceased."

Wow. Didn't know that would be an issue! But I guess it is for certain cultures. Learnt something new!
