Our maintenance department blokes have been around to paint the small block of flats I live in. However, they don't seem to care much for gardens. Here's the before:
..and here's the after!
I managed to stop them trampling over the roses and strawberries around the corner, but they got to the parsley and chives... Maintenance=Destruction, unfortunately.
Granted, the arums needed post-season chopping anyway, and the ferns could do with a bit of a thin-out, as could the huge bush of bright-red geraniums, but the hydrangea is going to take at least 2 years to recover, and in the meantime the place is a disaster-zone.
The flat looks nice and bright, painted in it's light creamy-yellow with white accents. I just wish I could say the same for the poor plants...
On the plus side, I now have more than enough to keep me busy outdoors in the fresh air for an hour after work each day! :)
