Monday on the Fly

Today's going to be one heck of a day, so here's a quick post of random thoughts before I dive into the deadline stuff.

Mom's still here - she made it to church in a wheelchair (across the parking lot from the hospital) this weekend, and although tired enjoyed it. Her sister is trying to get both passport and visa to make it over in time to be with her a bit.

Summer is also apparently here - we've had gale-force (well, it seems like it) south-easterly winds all weekend, the norm for the summer season (which drives me nuts!). However, that has not stopped me sorting out my garden - mowing the lawn, digging up bulbs to put in tomatoes etc. It did, however, blow over the contraption I put my washing on to dry.... Thankfully nothing got dirty and no dogs were harmed in the event.

I stopped by my son's school this morning to see a play their class was doing first-thing for the rest of the school. 3 out of the 4 were good - one is going to get someone in deep trouble, as the kid made a very rude gesture and suggestion half-way through, which tainted the rest of their play. Thankfully it wasn't in my son's play - his was great!

Talking of my son, he dragged me off to church again last night. Not because it was "church" as such, but because he wanted to get out of the house. He would have been happy to go for a drive or rent a DVD or anything - just to get out of the house. But we went to church, sneaked in late, sat through the service - and I came away cold. I also came away without a single person having greeted me. Oh well. Will unpack this one later in the week, as there's some stuff mulling around in the head.

Think I'm coming down with something flu-like (oh blessed day!). Will work as hard as I can today, and see how it goes the rest of the week. One huge deadline for lunchtime, but the rest of my work isn't urgent.

And off I rush - these things wait for no-one!
